Raised in a small town, Gord was an enterprising young lad with
several businesses. He attended Queen’s University in Kingston,
earning an engineering degree and a Master’s in materials
physics. Then he launched into a varied entrepreneurial career.
Gord's first effort was to develop a wind turbine for remote homeowners, but the 1970’s oil crisis passed before he got to market. So he worked at the Ontario CAD/CAM Centre in Cambridge for 3 years, and moved here from Guelph in 1986. Next Gord founded Tryllium Industries and began raising a family of three accomplished children. As a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario, Gord served on several community and industry boards over a 15 year period. His interests include sailing, skiing, and the piano. Meanwhile, Tryllium grew to 20 employees and became a market leader providing manufacturers with advanced engineering systems to increase productivity. By reinvesting over a 10-year period, Tryllium developed a unique software platform to automate industrial design work. In 2007 Gord spun off Logicap Engineering to serve a growing base of NeXtreme Automation clients. Today he's Past Chair of the Cambridge Economic Development Advisory Committee and he's politically active promoting fiscal responsibility at City Hall while encouraging economic growth to bring new jobs to town. |
